The Nasarawa State Ministry of Health faced significant data quality challenges, with duplicate facility entries in DHIS2 and reporting rates below 72%. This undermined decision-making and program accountability.

Led a comprehensive data quality initiative collaborating with the IT unit to remove over 200 duplicates from DHIS2. Developed an electronic attendance tracker for 10,000+ campaign personnel, streamlining payment processes. Designed Kobo Collect forms integrated with Power BI dashboards for real-time monitoring.

• Reporting rates improved from 72% to 98%
• Over 200 duplicate facilities resolved
• 90%+ completion of approved work plans

Family Planning Advocacy

Regional Research, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Jigawa State lacked dedicated budget allocation for family planning programs, limiting service availability and access for vulnerable populations.

Served as state focal point for the WISH project, collaborating with consortium partners to design human-centered family planning programs. Participated in high-level advocacy visits to the Governor, presenting evidence-based arguments for investment.

• Successfully advocated for creation of dedicated budget line
• Over N10 million released for family planning initiatives
• Launched innovative programs: Tea Vendor Program and “Gagarabaudau” radio show

HIV MARPs Programming

Key populations (female sex workers, MSM, IDUs) faced barriers accessing HIV services, with weak referral systems and limited community engagement.

Led MSM language code initiative to improve service access. Strengthened referral and linkage services while managing stakeholder relationships with community gatekeepers. Co-authored abstract presented at international conference in Denmark.
